Restore17 partners with a children's orphanage for boys in Ecuador. Each child has a unique story. Some have been victims of human trafficking while others have been removed from their families due to abuse or neglect. Restore17 provides holistic care making sure that spiritual, physical and emotional needs are met. Our staff does a weekly Bible study with the boys and is always available for prayer. They serve as mentors to the boys and offer emotional support catered to each boy's individual needs. Restore17 empowers the boys through homework assistance, tutoring and technical training. Additionally, we provide opportunities for the boys to go on weekend vacations, summer camp, a monthly birthday celebration and field trips in the city. In each area we serve, we seek to show the boys that they are valuable image-bearers of our Creator.
Casa Esperanza
Once a child turns 18-years-old they are considered legal adults and can no longer live in the orphanage. In response, Restore17 opened a transition home, Casa Esperanza (House of Hope). Without a strong foundation and solid community, the boys are susceptible to prostitution, gang activity, labor trafficking, homelessness and substance abuse. However, at Casa Esperanza the boys receive the care and skill set needed to become independent adults. The young men are welcomed into a safe environment as they navigate adulthood. Our House Parents and staff empower the young men through education and job training. At Casa Esperanza, dignity is restored as we nurture emotional and physical needs and provide gospel-centered discipleship. Our young men become members of a family and a larger community.
In addition, Casa Esperanza is a resource center for at-risk boys and young men who have returned home. Many of our youth have moved back with their biological families but still need help educationally and vocationally. Our staff provides individualized care catered to the unique needs of each youth. At Casa Esperanza they have access to the resources needed for self-sufficient living. These young men are discipled as they connect with our staff and House Parents. It is our hope that the boys see Christ-centered relationships and are equipped to follow Jesus in their daily lives.
